In order to apply for the Jim Ovia Scholars Program for Nigerian Students, motivated and exceptionally talented Nigerian students must submit an application. Since its founding in 1998, there has been a Jim Ovia Scholars Program. Mr. Jim Ovia fully funds it with the intention of giving outstanding Nigerian youths financial assistance.
Before, the award was called the MUSTE scholarship. The recipients of eligible awards receive tuition and living expenses paid for the duration of their undergraduate programs.

New applicants are given an average of 100 opportunities each year, and those who have already applied are given support each year provided they continue to meet all of the scholarship’s eligibility requirements. Mr. Ovia has contributed more than 100 million Naira to the program since October 2010 to support its 1500 beneficiaries.
The Jim Ovia Scholarship was established in order to build a network of future leaders in Nigeria who can compete globally with their peers, bring fresh perspectives and creativity, and are dedicated to enhancing the conditions and quality of life for people in their respective communities.

All prospective Nigerian citizens enrolled in a Nigerian institution are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Each year, recipients are chosen from a pool of qualified applicants, totaling one hundred (100).
Scholarships are given out based on the applicants’ intellectual prowess, capacity for leadership, and desire to make a positive difference in society at large.
